New Puppy Welcome

A friend of mine brought home a new puppy.  So whenever a new bundle of joy comes home, we celebrate by giving gifts.

I needed a gift bag but the only fancy ones I could find were for Christmas. I managed to locate a plain white bag among the others and had a good time illustrating it.

I drew on both sides of the bag.  My marker, as shown in the below pic, was wearing out.  I found a new one and quickly went over the side with the doggy on it that read "Dogs are earth's angels".  You know this if you have one...

We adopt them. They rescue us. "Our hearts are forever connected you see, I adopted you but you rescued me." I wholeheartedly believe this to be true and wish my friend and her family many years of happiness and protection with her beautiful loving angel.  xoxo

Be My Valentine

Lucy here...

It's Valentine's Day and mom dressed me up in  a fashion-forward candy-heart printed pink scarf.  Whee, I'm trending....

2014 Year-End

Lucy and I dismantled and packed away our Christmas decor this past weekend. As always, I cannot help myself in showing  you another photo of my girl dressed for the occasion:

Feels good to have the task completed and our home back to it's usual self. Bet Lucy feels the same. She "loves" wearing accessories and having a photo flash go off in her eyes--NOT!

Happy 13th Birthday, Lucy!

Wow! It's been a while since I posted. Hello, again, my friends and followers!!!

Many things have changed during the time I've been logged off. Thankfully, some remain the same with my most favorite being that our Lucy is still with us despite living with cancer since 2011. Woo-hoo!

We celebrated Lucy's 13th birthday in December 2014. (That's 91 in human years.) Here she is on her special day wearing her fab tu-tu while romping through the yard..

Thanks for taking time out of your schedule to read my blog. It's great to be back.

RIP, Lady

My friend, David, laid his dog, Lady, to rest last week. It was a sad day for him and his family as they said good-bye to their beloved furry friend of many years.

"Lady" getting a belly scratch
A Dog's Prayer by Beth Norman Harris

Treat me kindly, my beloved master, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.

Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I should lick your hand between the blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me do.

Speak to me often, for your voice is the world's sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footstep falls upon my waiting ear.

When it is cold and wet, please take me inside... for I am now a domesticated animal, no longer used to bitter elements... and I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth... though had you no home, I would rather follow you through ice and snow than rest upon the softest pillow in the warmest home in all the land... for you are my god... and I am your devoted worshiper.

Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for although I should not reproach you were it dry, I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst. Feed me clean food, that I may stay well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side, and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life, should your life be in danger.

And,beloved master, should the Great Master see fit to deprive me of my health or sight, do not turn me away from you. Rather hold me gently in your arms as skilled hands grant me the merciful boon of eternal rest...and I will leave you knowing with the last breath I drew, my fate was ever safest in your hands.

I am so sorry for your loss, David. You gave Lady a home and your heart for her lifetime.  She will always remember you. "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." ~Dr. Suess
